We consistently develop our products and formulations for fertilisers, potting soils and pesticides in order to meet the specific requirements of plants even better and so that we are able to constantly provide our customers with innovative solutions.
Here, in the area of quality assurance and innovative product development, we are able to make use of COMPO's own R&D centre. This has the latest testing facilities and is located on the grounds of the Horticultural Centre of the Chamber of Agriculture of North Rhine-Westphalia in Münster-Wolbeck. Beyond that, COMPO works with external testing centres and cooperates with leading universities and institutions in order to implement the findings of basic research in fertilisation practice. In this manner, we in turn make it possible for universities to incorporate current practice into their research.
New products are tested under practice conditions in Germany and numerous other locations in Europe and overseas. In this way, patented coating technologies represent a milestone for slow-release fertilisers. The coated Basacote controlled-release fertilisers today guarantee high quality and high crop yields when cultivating container plants in tree and ornamental plant nurseries and safeguard the nutrient supply for an entire growth period in home and garden.
In the area of plant protection, new methods and compounds are researched in our own development laboratory in order to constantly provide hobby gardeners in Europe with innovative active substances and formulations. Here, in addition to outstanding efficiency with respect to pests, plant diseases and weeds, emphasis is placed on safety, ease of use and ecological compatibility. New legislation is also implemented directly.
