COMPO is the success story of powerful brands: The cornerstone of COMPO GmbH & Co. KG was laid in 1956 with COMPO SANA, the first potting soil in user-friendly bags. In the following decades, the company was continuously expanded. The professional market was entered in 1971 with the brands Floranid, Hakaphos and Nitrophoska, which are established worldwide.

Today, COMPO operates internationally and is market leader in the segments of biological/chemical brand products for home and garden, as well as for specialised fertilisers for professional use.

Solid alliances for ongoing success

In the area of research, COMPO works with renowned testing centres and universities. We are also cooperating intensively with Syngenta – a leading company in the agri-business – in the area of plant protection for the consumer business in Europe since 2005.

 

Twice as fit for the future

The COMPO operation is split into the “Consumer” and the “Expert” business. The consumer segment encompasses a broad assortment of high-quality branded articles for home and garden. In the Expert-Segment, well-proven and new specialty fertilisers and materials for commercial usage are marketed worldwide.

In 2010, the company generated sales of EUR 385 million.
